    Description

    Overview An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of structural engineering, building evaluations, and consulting projects across commercial and residential markets.The ideal candidate enjoys balancing office-based engineering and design with field investigations and direct client interaction. This role provides exposure to every phase of a project—from structural analysis and design through construction support and technical consulting.Responsibilities Develop structural designs, calculations, and construction documents for new and existing building projects.Perform field investigations to evaluate structural conditions, identify deficiencies, and recommend practical repair or retrofit solutions.Conduct structural assessments and inspections for commercial, residential, and light industrial facilities.Review applicable building codes, construction documents, and engineering standards to ensure compliant designs.Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, cost opinions, specifications, and supporting calculations.Provide construction-phase support, including reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, and responding to field questions.Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.Mentor junior engineering staff and participate in technical reviews to maintain quality standards.Support technical consulting assignments, including structural investigations and engineering evaluations.Required Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE Exam required.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering, building assessments, consulting, or related engineering disciplines.Experience designing and analyzing structural systems for commercial and/or residential buildings.Working knowledge of applicable building codes and structural design standards, including IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, and applicable material design codes.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and project stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail and quality.Preferred Experience Structural evaluations of existing buildings.Renovation, rehabilitation, or retrofit projects.Construction administration and field observations.Client-facing consulting experience.Experience preparing technical reports and engineering recommendations.Physical Requirements Ability to perform field inspections, including climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, crawlspaces, and other construction environments.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and active construction sites while utilizing appropriate PPE.Valid driver\'s license with the ability to travel to project sites as required.Why Consider This Opportunity?
