Job Description:
Design Tree Engineering and Land Surveying is pursuing the addition of a Structural Designer with 2+ years’
experience and a proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM to join our growing and dynamic structural team
in the Minneapolis or St. Cloud office.

Responsibilities:
• Produce high-quality documents based on in-house drafting standards and clients’ design plans.
• Develop design concepts by coordinating with Design Tree and client personnel.
• Take initiative in issue resolution by seeking direction from Design Tree personnel and/or clients.
• Responsible for accurately completing tasks and projects in a timely manner based on project
deadlines.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce Revit standards, workflows, templates, details, and best practices
within the structural engineering group
• Collaborate and coordinate with Revit users from other engineering disciplines.
• Set up new projects with the company's Revit standards and templates.
• Create custom content as required for Revit project execution.
• Assist in integrating Revit Structure with engineering analysis software within the structural
engineering group.
• Work with the structural project engineer or project manager to understand the scope of work,
schedule, budget, project instructions and responsibilities.
• Works with the structural project engineer or project manager to determine intent and content of each structural model or drawing.
• Complete drawing responsibility tasks within scope, budget and schedule.
• Execute procedures as determined by the Team Leader.
• Review structural drawings for completeness, constructability and coordination.
• Monitor drawings to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and teams concurrently.
• Occasional travel to client sites for gathering information and measurements of existing facilities.
Site visits may require ladder, stair, and/or scaffolding climbing.
• Is able and willing to work overtime on occasion to meet project deadlines.
• Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and be part of a team.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Academics: Associates degree in Structural or Architectural Drafting, certificate in Revit training or
equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 2+ years’ experience in in producing structural/architectural drawings for building
designs using REVIT. Minimum of 2 years’ experience using REVIT Structure.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in producing structural/architectural drawings for building designs using Auto CAD.
• Experience with creating custom families, model components, and detail components.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and Sketch Up.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction practices.
• Hard working, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision after the initial training
period.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and project
teams.
• Experience in project types such as K-12 Education, Higher Education, multi-family housing, faith,
retail, podium structures, sports facilities, hospitality, water treatment plants, and warehouse
distribution.
