Overview:
The Stress Technician performs direct patient care and indirect patient care tasks as assigned. In this role the individual routinely administers cardiovascular diagnostic testing as order by physician in assigned areas: ECG, NICOM, amongst others.
Responsibilities:
- Upon the order of a physician provides direct patient care services: (1) Holter Monitor and Ambulatory Blood Pressure application (2) Physiologic monitoring of the cardiopulmonary system (ECG, and Exercise Tolerance Testing both chemical and regular.) (3) Phlebotomy (4) NICOM (non-invasive cardiac monitoring cardiography).
- Utilizes selected healthcare applications proficiently: MUSE Everywhere and Allscripts.
- Stays abreast on all equipment functions and associated precautions and hazards of all equipment used. Provides necessary support to maintain proper equipment function.
- Adheres to the proper procedure for obtaining, charging for, and returning supplies/equipment and maintains adequate supply levels through the use of accurate inventory control.
- Reviews daily work to check for completeness, obvious errors or omissions.
- Provides efficient transportation for patients both to and from requesting service areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Training
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
Additional Information:
Post-Employment: Phlebotomy competency required for Out Patient Laboratory.
Experience Requirements
- 0 -1 year Stress Technician
Certificates/Licenses/Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association (AHA)
