A Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach develops and implements scientifically-based training programs to improve athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and teach proper movement mechanics. They work closely with athletes, coaching staff, and medical professionals to design in-season and off-season workouts, supervise training sessions, and educate athletes on nutrition and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Design: Create, implement, and update comprehensive, evidence-based strength and conditioning programs tailored to specific sports and athletes.
- Coaching & Supervision: Lead training sessions, demonstrating proper technique for lifting and conditioning, and provide motivation.
- Assessment & Testing: Evaluate athletes' physical condition, strength, and performance metrics to track progress and adjust programming.
- Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation: Collaborate with athletic trainers to design, implement, and monitor reconditioning programs for injured athletes.
- Collaboration & Communication: Meet regularly with sport coaches to align training with competitive schedules.
- Facility Management: Maintain the safety and organization of the strength and conditioning facility and equipment.
