Job Description:
This PRN Strength & Conditioning Coach role offers the opportunity to support children and adolescents in a nationally recognized pediatric orthopedic and sports medicine environment. Coaches in this role help young patients build confidence, movement skills, and long-term athletic foundations in a highly collaborative clinical setting.
Design and implement individualized and group strength and conditioning programs that support athletic development, performance enhancement, and injury prevention.
Instruct and coach pediatric participants in proper exercise technique, movement mechanics, and safe use of training equipment.
Monitor participant progress and adjust training programs based on individual goals, performance outcomes, and program guidelines.
Provide age-appropriate coaching and training consistent with evidence-informed strength and conditioning practices.
Collaborate with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other professionals to support safe participation and continuity of care when appropriate.
Communicate effectively with participants, families, healthcare providers, and staff regarding program expectations, progress, and performance goals.
Complete required documentation and administrative responsibilities in accordance with departmental, organizational, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, competency development, and continuing education activities.
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional training environment, including oversight of equipment and training spaces.
Support departmental operations, community outreach, educational activities, and other organizational initiatives as assigned.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association
Certification in BLS.
Strong knowledge of youth athletic development, strength and conditioning principles, and coaching methodologies.
1 or more years of experience in youth, high school, or college strength and conditioning programs.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Exercise Science or related field.
Experience administering and interpreting sport science testing protocols, including assessments of strength, power, speed, agility, asymmetry, and readiness.
Familiarity with athlete monitoring systems and performance technologies, including experience using VALD Performance products, isokinetic strength testing, and associated athlete management platforms.
