SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Street Crew Leader, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual labor tasks in the operation, construction, maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, buildings and other municipal facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of high school plus construction and/or maintenance experience. Must possess a valid drivers license with a Class B CDL license, with removal of air break restriction within six months of hire date.

ESSENTIAL Functions of the job

  • Repair concrete, asphalt and gravel streets
  • Repair curb and gutters and building of storm sewer inlets/pipes.
  • Mowing, debris pick up and ditch maintenance
  • Operation and maintenance of small to large trucks and a variety of hand held and driven maintenance equipment.
  • Set up and tear down of temporary traffic control devices according to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices
  • Performs snow and debris removal functions including sanding and salting streets.

HOURS

40 hours per week; normally Monday thru Friday, 8-5. However, position is subject to on-call status and emergency recall.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

No. But must be able to adequately respond to emergency recalls and responses during on-call time.
