Full time

Shift:

Description:

Hybrid Position: 8am-4:30pm (must live in South Florida)

Position Overview:

The Strategy BI (Business Intelligence) Analyst is a high-visibility, hybrid role sitting at the intersection of data engineering, visual analytics, continuous process improvement, and healthcare leadership. Operating as an internal partner within the Strategy department at Holy Cross Health, you will not just build dashboards-you will own the entire lifecycle of strategic data initiatives. You will partner directly with hospital executives, clinical directors, and operational leaders to uncover business needs, optimize operational workflows, independently query data, and deliver the business intelligence that drives growth, market share, and operational excellence across the organization. Familiarity with healthcare strategic growth platforms, particularly Vizient/Sg2, is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

What you will do:

Executive Partnership & Project Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for hospital leadership. Lead project discovery sessions to translate complex healthcare business questions and operational bottlenecks into technical data requirements.

Process Optimization & Workflow Analysis: Apply a continuous improvement mindset to hospital operations. Analyze data to identify variances, redundancies, and waste, providing data-driven recommendations to streamline strategic and clinical workflows.

End-to-End Project Management: Own data and process projects from initial conversation to final deployment. Manage timelines, set expectations with stakeholders, and drive accountability across cross-functional teams.

Data Extraction & Modeling (The Plumbing): Independently write complex, optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and clean data from healthcare databases and warehouses.

Insightful Visualization (The Paint): Design and develop high-performance, executive-ready dashboards in Power BI and Tableau that track key strategic metrics, volumes, process capability, and market trends.

Strategic Market Intelligence: Leverage healthcare data consortiums and forecasting tools-specifically Vizient/Sg2-to analyze market share, project future inpatient/outpatient demand, and blend external market data with internal hospital data to identify growth opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications & Core Competencies:

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in healthcare data analytics, business intelligence, or hospital strategic planning. Direct experience navigating and extracting insights from Vizient/Sg2 platforms is highly preferred.

Process Improvement Certification:

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required. Black Belt preferred. Must demonstrate a proven track record of applying DMAIC or Lean methodologies to solve complex organizational problems.

Technical Toolkit: Proven, advanced proficiency in writing SQL queries and a strong portfolio of building interactive dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau.

Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills; highly comfortable commanding a room of clinical, operational, and administrative executives.

The "Unicorn" Mindset: Equal parts technical builder, data-driven process engineer, and articulate project manager. Highly autonomous, comfortable gathering their own requirements, and adept at making strategic decisions on the fly.
