An investment firm, private equity platform, asset manager, or corporate development group may seek a Strategic Portfolio Acquisition Lead to support the identification, evaluation, and execution of portfolio acquisitions.
This role is designed for analytically strong candidates interested in M&A, portfolio construction, and strategic investing, offering exposure to senior decision-makers, live transactions, and long-term investment strategy.
Support portfolio acquisition strategy across target identification, screening, and prioritization
Analyze potential acquisition opportunities using financial models, valuation frameworks, and strategic fit assessments
Build and maintain financial models (DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, portfolio impact analysis)
Conduct industry, sector, and competitive research to inform acquisition decisions
Assist in commercial, financial, and operational due diligence processes
Prepare acquisition memos, portfolio review materials, and investment committee presentations
Coordinate transaction workflows, including data rooms, advisors, and internal stakeholders
Collaborate with senior investment professionals on portfolio optimization and capital deployment strategy
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong foundation in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis
Interest in M&A, private equity, corporate development, or portfolio management
Ability to synthesize financial data and strategic insights into clear recommendations
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment
Prior experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, corporate finance, audit, or FP&A is beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research platforms
