Job Summary:

The DC Strategic Optimization Specialist is responsible for collaborating with BJ’s internal business units, as well as key vendor partners to develop and execute strategies that will drive efficiencies for the organization and as a result reduce total Ambient & Perishable DC operations costs.  This is accomplished using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance DC operations processes. The Specialist is responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support the organization’s strategic priorities and objectives. This role will be based onsite at an Ambient or Perishable distribution center.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather and interpret relevant data (costs, productivity, volume patterns, etc.)
• Investigate problems, root cause analysis, and develop solutions
• Develop periodic performance reports and distribute them to key distribution operations stakeholders
• Provide analytical support for projects, strategic initiatives, and proposals
• Coordinate DC Operations activities as required

​Additional responsibilities include:

• Provide analysis of KPI’s for the DC operations network
• Responsible for providing analysis and reporting to provide inventory visibility throughout the DC network
• Support new & existing initiatives with data analysis and reporting
• Support the DC‘s OP and RP processes by providing reporting packages to FP&A and Logistics teams
• Provide comprehensive tracking for high priority and high-profile initiatives and programs
• Provide support to the Planning & Allocation, Transportation and DCs team as needed      

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field and/or demonstrates capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience
• 2-4 years of retail, distribution experience preferred
• Supply Chain Management experience is a plus
• Tableau or other data visualization experience is a plus
• SAP or similar ERP systems experience is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced Excel skills required

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $68,500.00 - $87,500.00
