A leading middle-market investment bank or corporate investment team may seek a Strategic Investment Officer to support investment strategy, portfolio analysis, and strategic deal origination. This role is ideal for candidates who want to blend financial analysis with strategic thinking and investment decision-making.
Conduct market, industry, and competitor research to inform investment strategy
Evaluate potential investment opportunities, including M&A, strategic partnerships, and minority investments
Build and maintain financial and valuation models (DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, portfolio projections)
Prepare investment memos, strategic briefs, and client or internal presentations
Monitor portfolio performance and generate analytical insights to support senior investment decisions
Collaborate with deal teams, corporate strategy, and client stakeholders to align investment initiatives
Assist with due diligence coordination and key transactional support as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
Strong analytical, quantitative, and modeling skills
Strategic thinking with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities and market trends
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Prior internship or experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategic consulting is beneficial
