Position Overview
The Strategic Impact Officer serves as a results driven representative of Texas A&M UniversityKingsville (TAMUK), accountable for advancing institutional priorities through measurable community, corporate, and workforce outcomes. This role strategically aligns university resources with the needs of external partners, including school districts, employers, industry leaders, community organizations, and alumni, while actively strengthening partnerships and reinforcing the universitys reputation within the community.
The Strategic Impact Officer engages partners based on their specific needs, identifies opportunities for mutual value, and delivers accountable outcomes such as internships, partnerships, pipelines, and community initiatives. Through disciplined planning, data-informed decision-making, and high-impact engagement efforts, the Officer reinforces TAMUKs mission, supports student success and workforce readiness, and enhances the universitys regional reputation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development & Community Impact
Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with community organizations, education, and industry stakeholders to deliver measurable student outcomes, including internships, experiential learning, and career pathways.
Serve as a proactive liaison representing TAMUK, aligning university capabilities with partner needs and ensuring responsive, solution-focused engagement.
Advance initiatives that demonstrate institutional impact across South Texas, supporting economic development, workforce preparedness, and educational access.
Enhance TAMUKs workforce-ready reputation by identifying regional needs and opportunities and aligning employer demand with academic programs, student talent, and institutional resources.
Institutional Representative & Customer-Focused Liaison
Act as an ambassador for TAMUK, representing the university at external meetings, events, and forums.
Serve as a flexible liaison based on customer or partner needs, coordinating internally to ensure timely, effective responses.
Ensure external stakeholders experience consistent, professional, and mission-aligned engagement with the university.
Communications, Visibility & Brand Alignment
Contribute to the institutions brand narrative that elevates outcomes, impact, and success stories across the region.
Collaborate with university marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and institutional voice.
Strategic Planning, Accountability & Reporting
Establish goals, performance indicators, and benchmarks for outreach, partnerships, events, and engagement initiatives.
Track, analyze, and report outcomes related to partnerships, internships, events, and community engagement.
Provide regular, data-informed updates to university leadership demonstrating impact, return on investment, and progress toward institutional priorities.
Event Strategy & Execution
Plan, coordinate, and execute high-impact events and engagement activities that support institutional goals, partner relationships, and student success.
Ensure events are outcome-driven, professionally executed, and aligned with TAMUKs strategic objectives.
Support recruitment, workforce, and partnership-focused events, ensuring measurable participation and follow-through.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of related experience in public/community/external relations or event planning.

Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and outcome-based programming.

A federal proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Texas A&M University-Kingsville will not pay this fee. If immigration sponsorship may be required for employment, consult with private immigration counsel, at the individuals expense, is recommended to determine whether the individuals current immigration status would make a potential offer of employment from Texas A&M University-Kingsville subject to this fee.
In addition, on January 27, 2026, Texas Governor Abbott issued a moratorium on the filing of any new H-1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accordingly, if sponsorship for employment visa status is required now or in the future, this moratorium may affect the universitys ability to employ the selected final candidate. TAMUK will adhere to applicable regulations regarding visa opportunities.
