OverviewJoin to apply for the Store Manager Unassigned role at Walgreens .This role involves accelerated development toward Store Manager and exposure to full store operations across front-end and pharmacy.ResponsibilitiesLearn Walgreens' operations and how to lead the “one-box” (full store operations across front-end and pharmacy).Under the direction of the Store Manager, oversee the operation (front-end and pharmacy) of a Walgreens store.Support store operations by shadowing or assisting the Store Manager in leading the store during the learning journey.Training & Personal DevelopmentComplete rigorous, accelerated program including all certifications needed for the Store Manager role.Attend and complete classroom learning, online training and on-the-job training; fulfill rotations and learning objectives by spending time in other stores as assigned.Follow individual development plans offered by the District Manager; participate in one-on-one conversations with Store Manager and District Manager to pursue continuous professional growth and demonstrate readiness for permanent assignment and proficiency of learning topics with the Director of Pharmacy and Retail operations.Seek self-development by monitoring performance, setting high personal standards, and learning about retail, pharmacy, and management practices.Learn and implement compliance SOPs across front-end and pharmacy; gain knowledge of computer and technology systems and software.Obtain pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required by state law (and pursue PTCB certification, as required by state).Customer ExperienceEngage customers and patients by greeting them and assisting with products and services; resolve customer complaints promptly and model customer service best practices.Monitor customer service, provide coaching and training, and develop improvement plans for front-end and pharmacy; empower team members to find effective resolutions and build loyalty.Observe customer service trends and analyze feedback to drive improvements in service metrics.OperationsShadow the Store Manager; gain experience in supervising store operations and team members, including opening/closing shifts and task delegation; supervise merchandising tasks and promotional space planning.Protect store assets by administering internal loss prevention programs and monitoring systems; learn price accuracy and in-store price audits.Analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management; ensure standard operating procedures for receiving, pricing, and handling of front-end and pharmacy merchandise.Supervise store operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including sales of restricted items; ensure safety and well-being of team members.Comply with company policies; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and business partners; complete special assignments as needed.Business Performance ManagementLearn to analyze financial and performance data for the store and pharmacy; develop action plans to improve results, including sales growth and cost control.Identify sales opportunities to drive growth for the store and pharmacy.Review asset protection data and develop plans to reduce loss.Review daily and weekly performance metrics; prepare action plans to improve results and discuss with Store Manager and District Manager.Analyze pharmacy performance indicators and collaborate with Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacy Operations Manager to enhance pharmacy performance.Business PlanningWork with Store Manager to understand key inventory metrics and processes.Learn how to grow front-end and pharmacy business through new initiatives, planning, implementing, executing, and follow-up reviews.People & Performance ManagementLearn all aspects of people management, including training and coaching on SOPs.Learn to use Walgreens HR and people-management systems to supervise team members.Shadow Store Manager in action planning and performance conversations; understand performance management criteria and discipline/PI considerations when needed.Review company policies and relevant laws related to selection, recruitment, record retention, and training of team members.Support Store Manager in leveraging the team's strengths to increase engagement, overcome challenges, and adapt to changes.CommunicationsShadow Store Manager and participate in critical communications; learn best practices for providing and receiving feedback and ensuring open communication between management and staff.Assist in planning and attending community events; gain experience facilitating team discussions around key metrics.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree and 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years retail management experience.Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico).Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.Willingness to accept assignment into a Store Manager position, if offered.Willingness to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets located within the same hiring Area.Preferred QualificationsPTCB Certification.Bachelor's Degree.Managerial experience in a Retail Store/Hospitality role with people leadership and customer-facing responsibilities.We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.An Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/veterans.This information is provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.
