Job Title: Manager, Store (Bench Store Manager)Eligible Locations: Boulder, Lafayette, Broomfield, Thornton, Arvada, and surrounding Northern Colorado area.Pay: $68,000 annually. Open availability is required.This role supports Goodwill of Colorado's mission-driven operations by overseeing the financial performance of retail stores, guiding a cross‑functional team, and ensuring an uplifting customer experience. The candidate will manage multiple departments within the retail environment, drive accountability, and inspire staff through a proactive "Attitude of Gratitude."Essential FunctionsCollaborate with other Retail Store Managers and the Reporting Director to set goals and objectives that increase sales and donations.Develop, present, and manage the store budget.Refine operational procedures to maximize expense-to-revenue ratios.Conduct staff meetings to align expectations and monitor progress toward goals.Promote safety, ensuring OSHA and CARF compliance.Train, monitor, and certify staff on equipment use (pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, etc.).Lead, empower, and manage store staff to achieve productivity and success.Oversee hiring, performance management, goal setting, and termination recommendations for at least one department.Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Goodwill policies, the Employee Handbook, safety standards, and all applicable regulations.Supervise all retail store functional areas: sales floor, storefront, donation center, production, internal product movement, storage, and e-commerce.Support culture change by embracing new ideas and procedural improvements.Be on call for alarm notifications after hours.Perform additional duties as required.Provide coverage, train team members, and contribute to business development initiatives across the region.QualificationsMinimum 3 years' experience managing a retail store with responsibility for operations and financial outcomes.Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.High energy, strategic thinker, and strong leadership presence.Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel) and web applications (UKG, Outlook).Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and store functions.Knowledge of marketing, retail, and production processes.Ability to create, review, and apply statistical data to improve store performance.Experience with budgeting and fiscal management.Capability to adapt to changing circumstances and make sound decisions.Experience conducting performance feedback and developing internal talent.Strong verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels.Commitment to a workplace rooted in empathy for people with disabilities and disadvantages.Willingness to obtain equipment certifications (walkie stacker, forklift).Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and travel among assigned stores.Valid Colorado State driver license; preferred ability to drive for company business.BenefitsEligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long-Term Disability, and voluntary supplemental benefits.
