Store Manager - West Springfield
Full-Time | Reports to General Manager
Lead Strategy. Develop Leaders. Drive Performance.
Cannabis Connection is seeking a high-performing Store Manager to provide strategic
leadership, operational oversight, and full business accountability for one of our retail locations.
This role is designed for an experienced retail leader who thrives on ownership, develops
high-performing teams, and drives sustainable business results.
As Store Manager, you are the ultimate decision-maker and accountable leader for all store
operations, staffing, performance management, and business outcomes. You will oversee the
leadership structure below the General Manager, ensuring operational excellence while
developing future leaders and building a strong organizational culture.
This role is focused on leading the business, developing people, and driving performance not
executing day to day operational tasks as a primary function. The Store Manager sets the
strategic direction, ensures accountability, and empowers their leadership team to execute.

Position Summary
The Store Manager maintains full accountability for the overall success of the store, including:
Final decision making authority for operational, staffing, and performance matters
Overall store profitability and financial performance
Regulatory compliance and audit readiness
Inventory accuracy and inventory control systems
Employee engagement, retention, and leadership development
Customer experience and brand execution
Development of leadership bench strength and succession planning

The Store Manager directly manages all Leads and Retail Associates and serves as the primary
leader responsible for building a high-performing retail organization.

What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Business Performance
Maintain full ownership and accountability for store performance, operational execution,
and financial results.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales, profitability, labor, and operational
performance goals.
Analyze business trends, KPIs, customer behavior, labor metrics, and operational data to
identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Establish performance expectations and accountability standards across all levels of the
organization.
Lead business planning initiatives focused on revenue growth, operational efficiency,
and long-term organizational success.
Partner with the General Manager to support company initiatives, expansion
opportunities, and strategic objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, profitability, and
customer experience.
Leadership Development & People Management
Directly manage, coach, and develop all Leads and Retail Associates.
Maintain accountability for staffing strategy, workforce planning, employee engagement,
and retention.
Develop leadership bench strength through succession planning and talent development
initiatives.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and leadership development
planning.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and
operational excellence.
Partner with Human Resources and executive leadership on recruiting, performance
management, employee relations, and organizational development.
Identify high-potential employees and create development pathways for future
leadership roles.
Operational Oversight & Compliance
Maintain executive oversight of all retail operations, inventory controls, cash
management processes, and compliance programs.

Ensure all operational systems and procedures are executed consistently and effectively
by leadership teams.
Maintain accountability for METRC accuracy, inventory reconciliation processes, and
audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with all Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission regulations,
company policies, and operational standards.
Lead internal compliance reviews, operational assessments, and risk mitigation
initiatives.
Evaluate operational performance metrics and implement process improvements to drive
efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure the store maintains exceptional standards for safety, security, and regulatory
compliance.
Financial Management & Operational Excellence
Own all store financial performance metrics, including sales, margin, labor, inventory,
and profitability.
Develop and manage labor strategies that balance operational needs, employee
engagement, and financial performance.
Analyze financial reporting and business intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.
Maintain accountability for inventory control systems, variance reduction, and asset
protection.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining exceptional
customer experiences.
Partner with leadership teams to achieve key business objectives and operational goals.
Customer Experience & Brand Leadership
Champion an exceptional customer experience strategy that aligns with company values
and business objectives.
Ensure consistent execution of merchandising, visual presentation, and brand
standards.
Lead customer retention initiatives through service excellence, loyalty engagement, and
community outreach.
Resolve escalated customer concerns while maintaining a customer-first culture.
Serve as the leadership example for professionalism, accountability, and service
excellence.

What We're Looking For

You are a strategic, results-driven leader who embraces accountability, develops exceptional

Qualifications
5+ years of progressive retail leadership experience required, including multi-level team
management responsibility.
Cannabis retail management experience required.
Minimum of 3 years managing leaders and supervisory teams.
Demonstrated success leading high-volume retail operations with full P&L accountability.
Proven ability to drive sales growth, labor efficiency, operational excellence, and
profitability.
Experience developing leaders, building succession plans, and creating high-performing
teams.
Strong understanding of strategic workforce planning and labor management.
Experience with seed-to-sale inventory systems; METRC experience strongly preferred.
Experience with POS systems (Dutchie preferred) and customer loyalty platforms (Alpine
IQ preferred).
Strong understanding of Massachusetts cannabis regulations and compliance
requirements.
Active or eligible Massachusetts CCC Agent Registration required prior to employment.
Responsible Vendor Training (RVT) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
date.
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and financial reporting experience.
Exceptional communication, coaching, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and perform physical retail activities as needed.
Ability to work on computers, tablets, and POS systems for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail when reviewing operational, compliance, and financial reports.

Availability Requirements
Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak retail
periods.

Ability to work 40+ hours per week, with additional hours as business needs require.
Availability to support emergency operational needs, audits, and critical business
functions.
Willingness to travel between Cannabis Connection locations as needed.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
