Job Summary:

The Store Associate at Maven Genetics Retail will assist customers with purchasing product(s) and provide the best customer service during their experience, while assisting in supervising and leading teammates through the daily activities in the retail space. While the primary focus of this role is Store Associate, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to cross-train in other positions within the department based on organizational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets and interacts with customers from start to finish.
  • Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to the available third party products, household products and in-house deals.
  • Has a good knowledge and understanding of cannabis to explain products and their usage to help customers in their selection, as well as being able to suggest options suitable for their needs.
  • Answers customer's questions about cannabis, in-house products and deals.
  • Assists customers with purchase decisions.
  • Retrieves merchandise from the retail floor, stock room, or other inventory location as needed.
  • Collects payment using the store point of sale (POS) system.
  • Follow Maven Retail Store's sales procedures and processes.
  • Restocks products on the retail floor, and helps support inventory count.
  • Processes returns and exchanges.
  • Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete orders.
  • Can lead a team in conducting daily safety checks, inventory needs, and customer service feedback.
  • Can open and close the retail location occasionally as requested.
  • Inspects quality and quantity of products and inventory to report any discrepancies or low stock concerns to management.
  • Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies and retail objectives.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve retail and in-house deals.
  • Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees.
  • Supports in ordering retail location needs, including but not limited to supplies.
  • Handles moderately complex  issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Performs other duties as needed in support of business objectives as assigned by Supervisor(s).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least two years related work experience in the retail space  required.
  • At least two years related experience in cannabis; preferred.
  • Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis goods sold.
  • Ability to anticipate customer's needs, while being able to recommend products to customers.
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's POS system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues effectively.
  • Ability to motivate a team to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
  • Ability to remain organized.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and efficiency, especially in regard to communication.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Available and willingness to work flexible onsite hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts to meet business needs/production demands.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, sit for extended periods and continuous mobility and repetitive movements to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch on a daily basis.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Occasionally lift and carry packaging supplies or equipment (typically up to 30 pounds).
  • Sedentary Work: Ability to hear and respond to phone calls, meetings, and communications.
