Storage Engineer PositionLocation: Detroit, MI/ Charlotte, NCDuration: 12 Months contract position with possible extensionResponsibilities:Backup/Archiving: tape, Data Domain, NetBackup, CenteraOpsCenter experience is a mustNetBackup Access Control (NBAC) – very importantRequirements gathering and use case analysis that results in well documented and traceable business and technical requirements and SLA's for storage related technologiesMaintaining an understanding of deployed customer solutions, potential issues, requirements, and service gapsDevelopment and maintenance of various solution artifacts including: conceptual and detailed design, configuration guidelines, build books, run books, and service level definitionsDetermining hardware and software components to meet customer's requirementsPerforming proof of concepts for proposed solutionsEstablishing and maintaining vendor relationships with leading technology and solution providersLeading Operations Team to implement and continuously improve backup and data protection servicesJob Requirements/Qualifications:At least 5 years of experience in relevant technologies, including experience leading complex initiativesNAS with NDMP experience is desiredExperience with backup using RMAN, SAP plugins, and other native application backupsSQL and Exchange server backups using NetbackupEnterprise storage administrationUnderstanding of dependent technologies including Cisco UCS and application specific storage requirements such as MS SQL, and EMC VMWare.Experience with next generation technologies such as clustered file systems is desiredDesired is experience in automating processes and software/script developmentHands on knowledge of key operating system environments including MS Windows, Solaris, HPUX, Red Hat Linux, and VMwareExperience with Netbackup Appliances is a plusMust be able to work well in a changing environment
