We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician with a Virginia State Inspection License who is comfortable with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and powertrain repair work in a fast-paced dealership environment.
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer and dealership vehicles while ensuring repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to manufacturer standards.
We are specifically looking for technicians with strong troubleshooting ability, diagnostic experience, and knowledge of powertrain systems including engine, transmission, drivability, and electrical repair. Candidates must hold a valid Virginia State Inspection License and be capable of performing high-quality work in a production-driven environment.
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair work on customer and dealership vehicles
Diagnose drivability, electrical, engine, transmission, and powertrain concerns
Perform state inspections in compliance with Virginia regulations
Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently according to manufacturer standards
Communicate repair findings and recommendations with Service Advisors and management
Utilize diagnostic equipment, shop software, and service tools effectively
Maintain productivity, efficiency, and quality standards
Ensure repairs are completed properly to minimize comebacks
Follow all dealership safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Previous automotive technician experience required
Valid Virginia State Inspection License required
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required
Powertrain repair experience preferred
Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced service environment
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to use diagnostic software and repair equipment
Hyundai or manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required
Valid driver’s license required
$50,000 – $100,000+ annually based on experience, certifications, and performance
Flat-rate compensation structure with strong earning potential for experienced technicians.
