Position Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Modesto, CA 95350
Schedule: 14-week contract | 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday

Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical services by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for patient care. The ideal candidate will maintain strict compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination of used surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and infection control protocols
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble surgical instruments according to established procedures
- Accurately assemble, package, and prepare instrument trays and sets for sterilization
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer disinfectors
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality prior to sterilization
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, tracking logs, and inventory records
- Report missing, damaged, or malfunctioning instruments per standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in decontamination and sterile processing areas
- Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs), and facility SOPs
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply availability
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency and patient safety
- Participate in ongoing training and maintain required competencies
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on sterile processing experience
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques
- Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs
- Ability to operate sterilization and decontamination equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CRCST or CIS certification (Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred)
