Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Schedule: Night Shift | Monday – Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Rotating Weekends & On-Call Required

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a busy acute care hospital. The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while maintaining compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments

  • Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes

  • Maintain instrument trays and ensure proper inventory levels

  • Perform quality checks to ensure instrument functionality and sterility

  • Follow infection prevention and safety protocols

  • Document sterilization records accurately

  • Support operating room and procedural departments with instrument needs

  • Troubleshoot equipment and instrument issues as appropriate

  • Float between qualified departments as needed

  • Participate in on-call coverage and rotating weekend schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience

  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting

  • Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control, and instrument processing

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently during night shifts

  • EPIC experience preferred

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred

  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) preferred
