PeaceHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a Full Time 1.00 FTE Evening position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $23.47 - $34.82. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Job Summary:
Responsible for operating autoclaves and other equipment to clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instruments and equipment, including power equipment as applicable. Also responsible for inspecting and assembling instruments, trays, and packs. Essential Functions:
Responsible for the coordination, assembly, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical cases. Re-stocking inventory. Cleaning, decontaminating, disassembling, and sterilizing instruments and supplies. Operating a variety of sterilization equipment. Cleaning and maintaining department equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma Preferred or equivalent
Experience: Preferred Completion of a National Central Service Technician course and/or six months experience as a Sterile Process Technician
Credentials: Required within 1 Year Natl Sterile ProcessingDistribution Certification Certification from IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) or certification from CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) or other nationally recognized certifying body.
Skills: Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. Required Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications.

Sacred Heart Medical Center-RiverBend A minimum of three 3 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician required or three 3 months experience as a Veterinary Technician, Dental Technician, Surgical Support Aide, or other medical related technician role whose responsibilities included cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instrumentation.
Working Conditions:
Lifting: Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment frequently. Lift, carry frequently up to 25 lbs. Push, pull frequently up to 10 lbs. force. Reaching frequently. Squat, kneel occasionally.
Environmental Conditions:
Exposure to biohazard body fluids and airborne particles. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Mental: Vision and hearing required within normal limits. Glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
