Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Evansville, IN

Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Evansville

Department/Specialty: Sterile Processing

Schedule: Full Time | Night Shift | 9pm-7:30am Mon-Thur | Rotating weekends & holidays.

• Lead with a "quality-first" mindset, identifying instruments in need of repair or replacement before they ever reach the sterile field.

• Create organized and complete surgical sets by following precise tracking systems and count sheets to eliminate errors in the OR.

• Support your colleagues by sharing expertise during quality assurance checks, helping the entire department meet and exceed safety protocols.

• Ensure a seamless workflow by adhering strictly to manufacturer instructions and hospital guidelines, treating every instrument as if it were being used on a loved one.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:  

• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Preferred.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Preferred.

Education:

•  High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

CRCST or Sterile Processing/Healthcare Experience.

Must obtain CRCST certification within one year of hire date.
