Job Title: Sterile Processing Manager

Department: Central Sterile Processing / Nursing Administration

Location: 41 East Post Road, White Plains, NY 10601

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Day Shift

Position Summary

The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing Department. This position ensures the proper decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and supporting high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing Department.

Ensure proper decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment.

Maintain compliance with AAMI, Joint Commission, OSHA, CDC, and hospital policies and procedures.

Supervise staffing, scheduling, workflow, employee training, and departmental performance.

Manage instrument inventories, vendor trays, emergency code carts, and sterilization quality assurance programs.

Collaborate with Operating Room, Nursing, and ancillary departments to ensure efficient patient care.

Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, competencies, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of Central Sterile Processing and/or Operating Room experience.

Previous leadership or management experience preferred.

CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) Certification required.

Leadership certification (or willingness to obtain within three years of hire).

Strong knowledge of sterilization processes, instrument management, and regulatory compliance.

Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
