Schedule

Compensation

  • Estimated Salary Range: $52,000 – $90,000 annually
    Compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to oversee evening operations within the Sterile Processing Department. This leadership role supports departmental efficiency, quality assurance, staff development, and compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards while collaborating closely with hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations and leadership of the Sterile Processing Department
  • Support departmental goals, quality initiatives, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with sterilization standards, aseptic techniques, and infection control protocols
  • Assist with recruitment, orientation, training, and continuing education of department staff
  • Monitor quality control programs and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure effective workflow and service coordination
  • Maintain staff competency and support performance development
  • Assist in resource planning and departmental budgeting recommendations
  • Promote a positive department culture and represent the organization at hospital and community events

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience required
  • Two-Year Surgical Technology Course or CRCST/CSPDT certification required
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • CSPDT/IAHCSMM Certification required
  • Strong supervisory, technical, and communication skills required
  • Knowledge of operating room instrumentation, equipment, aseptic technique, and infection control required
  • Experience in Surgery Center settings will also be considered

Department Information

  • Department currently includes 7 Team Leads and approximately 80 FTEs
  • Utilizes SPM Workflow system
  • Supports multiple service lines including Endoscopy, OR, CVOR, Labor & Delivery, Inpatient, and Outpatient Ambulatory Clinics

  • Sign-On Bonus available on a case-by-case basis
