This Sterile Processing Manager role is based in Asheville, NC at a flagship regional medical center serving as the health system's primary acute care hub. The position is full-time, evening shift, and offers oversight of a high-volume sterile processing operation supporting a broad range of surgical and clinical service lines.

The role. Reporting to the Director of Sterile Processing, the Manager supports day-to-day leadership of a department of approximately 80 FTEs organized under 7 Team Leads. The department operates across multiple service lines — including Endoscopy, OR, CVOR, and Labor & Delivery — and extends support to both inpatient units and outpatient ambulatory clinics. Workflow is managed through SPM (Sterile Processing Management) software, and the Manager is expected to maintain operational continuity and staff accountability across those platforms and service areas. Candidates with surgery center sterile processing management experience will also be considered for this role.

What we're looking for.
  • Completion of a two-year Surgical Technology program, or CRCST/CSPDT certification in lieu of formal degree
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Active CSPDT or IAHCSMM certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating room instrumentation, equipment, aseptic technique, and infection control principles

Schedule. Full-time, evenings, generally 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; hours may vary based on departmental needs and meetings.

Compensation. $52,000 - $90,000 per year plus $5,000 sign-on bonus
