WHAT WE NEED

 **AFTERNOON SHIFT ONLY**

We are the guardians of sterilization excellence, in need of a coordinator who can orchestrate the flawless decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of our life-saving instruments and equipment.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise and schedule sterile processing technicians to ensure efficient workflow and coverage.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to SPD staff, fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism.

Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee quality control and assurance activities to ensure the safe and effective sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and audits of sterilization processes.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including those set forth by CMS, AAMI, and CDC.
  • Implement and enforce departmental policies and procedures to maintain compliance.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to manage inventory levels of sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of instrument sets and equipment.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Oversee maintenance, calibration, and verification of sterilization equipment.
  • Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records related to sterilization processes, quality checks, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure records are updated and securely stored.

Education and Training:

  • Provide ongoing education and training to SPD team members on industry best practices and safety protocols.
  • Support staff development and competency building.

Infection Control:

  • Collaborate with infection control specialists to implement and manage infection prevention protocols.
  • Investigate and manage infection control incidents as necessary.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other facility departments to ensure the timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment.
  • Coordinate instrument distribution with the Logistics Coordinator.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST, CIS, or similar).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile processing, with 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile processing methods, healthcare regulations, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.


DETAILS

This is an on-site position at our Modesto, California facility. The selected candidate will work a 2nd shift schedule (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM). We are building other facilities and working with various partners, so occasional travel may be necessary to share best practices and meet with vendors and partners.
