Schedule: Days 7AM - 3PM

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleaning and decontamination of general and specialty surgical instruments, power equipment, endoscopes, and sterilization.
  • Prepare and package general instruments and two surgical instrument specialties.
  • Conduct quality control testing and monitoring of sterilization equipment, maintain records, and prepare and dispatch surgical cases.
  • Assemble surgical trays with a count sheet and perform duties such as answering phones, cleaning, stocking, transporting, and dispensing supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of decontamination, disinfection, and cleaning methods.
  • Disassemble instruments and equipment for cleaning, ensuring all bio-burden material is removed.
  • Inspect instruments and equipment to ensure proper functionality and absence of damage.
  • Operate and troubleshoot cleaning equipment while maintaining OSHA safety standards.
  • Prepare and assemble, inspect, and package general and two specialty instrument services.
  • Inspect all instruments for sharpness, functionality, and integrity.
  • Enter, modify, and search information in the instrument tracking system.
  • Incorporate infection control guidelines during the transferring, storing, and transporting of sterile packages.
  • Prepare and dispatch surgical cases using the Horizon Surgical Manager program.

Requirements:

  • CRCST certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience with achievement of specific competencies.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move supplies and equipment with or without the use of assisted devices.
  • Handle chemicals and detergents.
  • Ability to see, hear, write, and communicate clearly.
  • Operate automated and technical equipment.
  • Work rapidly and accurately.
  • Physical stamina, good manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Requires flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
