For additional information, visit: ElbitAmerica.com or follow us on YouTube .Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Systems Engineer to join our team within the Test Engineering department, primarily focusing on the qualification of complex defense systems. This role is for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will lead the planning, execution, and analysis of qualification and acceptance testing to ensure our products meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the product lifecycle and a proven track record of successful program execution in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive qualification plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with military and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810 & DO-160)Serves as the primary technical interface for all qualification events, collaborating with design engineers, mechanical engineers, systems engineers, quality assurance, program manager, and project engineering manager to define test requirements and ensure product readinessAnalyze test data, process Test Failure and Resolution Reports (TFRRs) to completion, and recommend corrective actionsInterpret customer specifications and translate them into actionable test requirementsDevelop qualification schedules and coordinate/perform testingAssist with the definition of functional tests required to verify equipment operation during environmental testsSet up and operate environmental test chambers, vibration tables, and data acquisition systemsCoordinate with subcontract testing lab(s) (quotes, POs, scheduling testing, testing, reports, etc.)Support design verification, qualification, and reliability testing programsEnsure test equipment is properly calibrated and maintainedInterface with external customers for milestone reviews, test planning, and test execution phasesContribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and proceduresAuthor Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for qualification testing for RFIs and RFP responsesRequired Qualifications:Minimum 10 years of engineering experience with a minimum 5 years performing environmental testing per MIL-STD-810 or DO-160Understanding the hardware development lifecycle, reliability, and compliance testingRelevant experience in hardware validation and verification testingHands‑on experience with environmental test equipment (climatic chambers, shock/vibration systems, etc.)Proficient in data acquisition, analysis tools, and technical report writingExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a cross‑functional teamAttention to Detail: High level of precision in test execution, data analysis, and reportingPreferred Qualifications:Extensive experience with DO-160Experience with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, or MIL-STD-1275 standards and testingActive U.S. Security Clearance or ability to obtain oneExperience supporting government contracts or working in a defense/aerospace environmentExperience with enterprise-level tools to aid in program management, such as but not limited to DOORS, JIRA, Risk/Opportunity tools, MS Project, Product LifeCycle Management (PLM)Primarily onsite in a laboratory or test facility environmentOccasional travel required to subcontract testing labs in Dallas or PlanoOccasional travel may be required for off‑site testing or customer supportHere Are Some of the Great Benefits We Offer:Most locations offer a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday offCompetitive compensation & 401(k) program to plan for your futureRobust medical, dental, vision, & disability coverage with qualified wellness discountsBasic Life Insurance and Additional Life & AD&D Insurances are availableFlexible Vacation & PTOGenerous Employee Referral ProgramVoluntary Benefits Available: Longer Term Care, Legal, Identify Theft, Pet Insurance, and moreVoluntary Tricare Supplement available for military retireesThis job description does not list all the duties of the job.
