Position Summary: CVS Pharmacy Inc., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Staff Software Development Engineer to design and develop enterprise software applications and platforms. Duties include: analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements; determine feasibility of solutions design and prepare technical design documentation; upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability; develop and deploy application components, and support unit testing and bug fixes; participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and/or CI/CD; support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities; and collaborate with cross-functional teams on applications development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following:

  • Design and develop system applications, frameworks, and sub-modules;
  • Create and analyze new computer programs and data structures based on specifications and user requirements;
  • Modify and develop software using Core Java, Android SDK, JavaScript, JSON, REST Services, Sensors, and Bluetooth Low Energy;
  • Participate in usability, GUI, system, and functional module development;
  • Estimate effort for assigned modules and debug application issues;
  • Collaborate with the QA team for issue analysis and root cause identification;
  • Provide technical guidance to team members;
  • Review test specification documents for assigned modules; and
  • Manage issue tracking, fixing, and closure in the bug tracking tool .

Position also requires one (1) year of experience in each of the following:

  • GIT, JAVA, XML, JSON, Agile methodologies, JIRA, SQL, and REST;
  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM);
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC);
  • Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting;
  • Web and mobile applications development;
  • Writing application code and deploying to production; and
  • Working with UI/UX teams to develop wireframes and prototypes based on end user feedback and human centered design.

Pay Range: $147680.00/year to $236900.00/year.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
