Responsibilities:

The Pulmonary Thoracic Care Unit provides specialized post-operative care for patients undergoing complex, high-risk oncologic surgeries, including thoracic, head and neck, and hepatobiliary procedures. The unit also cares for high-acuity pulmonary patients, including those with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and advanced airway needs, as well as a diverse Intermediate Care (IMCU) patient population.

Team members develop advanced critical thinking, comprehensive assessment, and clinical decision-making skills while caring for a complex patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  3. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  1. BSN degree
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  3. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  4. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
Work Hours:: 7PM-7AM Weekend Requirements:: Yes- Rotating Basis
