Staff Right of Way Specialist

Location: Englewood, CO
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Staff Right of Way Specialist to support land acquisition and right of way project activities across multiple project locations. This role is responsible for facilitating property acquisition processes, conducting property research, supporting permitting efforts, and coordinating project documentation and stakeholder communications.

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of right of way processes, real estate documentation, and project coordination while working collaboratively with internal teams, field agents, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate land acquisition activities including negotiations, property research, titles, and surveys.
  • Perform permitting activities, construction coordination, and restoration support for Right of Way projects.
  • Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret land and Right of Way agreements, including deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses.
  • Research and collect real property documentation related to project requirements.
  • Translate Right of Way data into stakeholder management databases.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of database entries submitted by Right of Way field agents.
  • Present technical and project-related data to Right of Way project teams.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications.
  • Develop project status reports, technical reports, and acquisition updates for project teams and client management.
  • Manage document preparation and control, meeting agendas, and general project coordination activities.
  • Assist with subcontractor management, including reviewing contracts, invoices, and change orders.
  • Support and participate in public involvement meetings and presentations.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and establishing project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and site safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field and 4+ years of Right of Way acquisition, relocation, eminent domain, project management, real estate, or related experience
    OR
  • Applicable professional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Ability to read and interpret title reports, appraisal reports, and land surveys.
  • Working knowledge of general real estate law and title work processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with database management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company motor vehicle safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SR/WA designation.
  • Certification from the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).
  • Real Estate Broker License or Sales License.
  • Prior experience supporting infrastructure, utility, or Right of Way projects.
