We continuously innovate with AI, ML, and edge computing to provide actionable data to safety managers and operations leads, reducing risk and resource usage.Position SummaryAs a founding product engineer you will design and implement the user experience and backend that safety managers and operations leads rely on daily. This full‑stack role requires strong design taste and the ability to build fast, data‑dense interfaces and scalable APIs.Essential FunctionsSafety operations dashboard – real‑time event feed, alert details with videos, site map, zone‑violation tracking, and risk summaries.Compliance analytics – trend reporting, time‑based comparisons, and exportable reports for record‑keeping.Operator scoring and coaching workflow – safety scoring, coaching queue, session tracking and completion.Agentic product features – conversational safety assistant, auto‑coaching agent, intelligent alert triage and summarization.Application‑layer backend – APIs, data modeling, and integration with cloud services.Rapid iteration with real customers – ship fast, instrument usage, run pilots alongside live deployments.Qualifications7+ years of software engineering with front‑end and full‑stack product development.Strong product instincts and design taste; ability to make UX trade‑offs independently.Experience building data‑dense, real‑time interfaces (event feeds, dashboards, timelines, alert queues, workflow views).Comfortable with backend development: API design, data modeling, multi‑tenancy, role‑based access control.Willingness to work directly with customers in the field.Proficiency in modern web languages (TypeScript/JavaScript) and a backend language (Go or Python).Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).Nice to have: AI agent features (tool use, conversational interfaces, LLM surfaces), cloud infrastructure (AWS), experience in safety, operations, or compliance software.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (San Diego Pay Range: $140,000 USD – $190,000 USD) plus eligibility for yearly bonus.Company equity.Company‑paid health, dental, and vision coverage for you and most dependents.Generous PTO and sick leave.401(k) with generous company match.Disability, life insurance and ancillary benefits.Why This RoleWe have analyzed over 25 billion miles of driving data to build the most accurate edge AI systems in commercial transportation.
