Summary
Provides health care services to students and refers cases for more advanced treatment as needed
Essential Job Functions
Assists students with their treatment for minor illnesses and injuries and refers cases for more advanced treatments as needed
Dispenses medication and provides medical treatment under the guidelines of the medical providers standing orders as needed
Processes and reviews medical records in accordance with department of health and university regulations
Records patients'' complaints, performs assessments, treatments, and refers for treatment outside the university as needed
Documents student visits and contacts to track the frequency of visits and illnesses so trend analysis can be completed
Assists with educational programs that teach students about health related matters and to promote healthy practices on campus
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum of an associate''s degree or equivalent formal training program
Experience working in nursing or other related experience
Registered nurse''s license
BLS certification
