Sign-on Incentive: Candidates are eligible for a sign-on incentive of up to $12,500 based on experience.

JPW is a 19-bed adult unit that provides care for patients with general psychiatric conditions, with a particular emphasis on thought disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar, and other psychotic disorders. JPW also provides specialized services for adult patients with an intellectual disability and co-occurring mental illness (IDMI) who display challenging behaviors. The interdisciplinary treatment team includes physicians, psychologists, advanced practice providers, master-level therapists, nurses, social workers, dieticians, occupational and recreational therapists, behavioral health consultants, and a cadre of specialists who collaborate with the treatment team to support the IDMI population.

Percent of Time: 60% Schedule: Weekend Option Days, 0700-1930.

Education Required: An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.

Experience Requirements: • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions • General computer skills are required • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire

Desirable Qualifications: • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable • Knowledge of university and hospital policies and procedures is desired
