Job Description SummaryThe Staff Model-Based Systems Engineer will provide leadership for initiatives with broad scope & high business impact. They will have a demonstrated record of project leadership and process excellence. The role is guided by operating policy, works with cross‑functional teams, and has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or a family within a function, or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.Systems engineering is a cross‑functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process that considers both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of delivering a quality product that meets the user's needs. Systems engineers execute a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, including identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs, and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.Roles and ResponsibilitiesProvide technical and program management leadershipDevelop collaborative solutions working across horizontal support organizationsSupport the teams in modernizing design and systems engineering processes with lean toolsExecute modelling within an MBSE environment aligned with best practices and industry standards, including requirements, functional architecture, logical architecture, physical architecture, interfaces, and trade studiesEffectively manage a collaborative digital environment by supporting data management, tool and process sustainment, authoritative sources of truth, digital threads, and data integrationProvide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams, and mentor others in the organizationAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresMonitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developmentsLead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasksParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsProvide leadership to help focus and integrate new technologies smoothly into NPI programs and productionOther Model-Based Enterprise responsibilities as requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering positionThis role requires the successful candidate to maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold a U.S. Government Security ClearanceLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship of employment visas is not available for this job openingDue to security requirements, this position must be able to work full‑time in the office scheduleSecurity Clearance InformationThis role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
