Position Overview

The Staff Engineering Technician supports the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team on Nuclear Generation projects within the Power Providers Market Sector. This role contributes to civil/site development deliverables including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.

Working under general direction, you will develop and modify technical drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler, supporting high‑quality engineering outputs for complex nuclear infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Production — Create and modify drawings, models, and documentation using CAD/BIM tools.

  • Design Support — Apply foundational engineering principles to develop moderately complex design concepts.

  • Quality & Standards — Ensure deliverables meet codes, standards, and BV quality requirements.

  • Project Coordination — Collaborate with other design groups to exchange information and maintain alignment.

  • Technical Guidance — Provide direction to other technicians as needed to maintain consistency and accuracy.

  • Documentation & Records — Maintain drawing control, project records, and documentation.

  • Field & Startup Support — May assist with field activities or control system programming.

  • Continuous Improvement — Support process improvements, change‑management efforts, and adoption of new technologies.

Required Skills

  • Autodesk Civil 3D — Required.

  • Bentley MicroStation — Required.

  • Bentley OpenPlant Modeler — Required.

  • Strong understanding of civil/site design standards, codes, and drafting practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate required.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering technician experience.

  • Must satisfy all 10 CFR 810 eligibility requirements for nuclear program support.

  • Must complete all pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR).
