Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supporting semiconductor manufacturing across Micron Global Manufacturing Network by providing high quality engineering services for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities systems including Cleanroom HVAC, Chilled Water, Heating Water, Makeup Air, Recirculation Air, Process Cooling Water, Process Exhaust, Compressed Air, Process Vacuum and General HVAC.Support the Facilities Teams across the Micron network as an authority through all phases of design, construction, installation, startup and operations to ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and code compliance.Develop, review, and maintain the equipment and component specifications and standards for Mechanical systems and ensure designs follow these as well as applicable codes and regulations.Work closely with key engineering consultants (AE firms) that are providing design engineering services to ensure all facilities system design complies with Micron design standards and all deviations are understood, approved and documented.Understand facilities systems capacity calculations using engineering information such as fan curves, pump curves, hydronics (e.g., chiller cooling performance and delta T), system heat recovery, air flow (volumetric and pressure).Participate in capacity planning scenarios across the network to evaluate the impact of technology node or wafer output changes on facilities systems, and articulate the impacts to senior leadership.Review capacity planning databases (Base Build capacities, POC assignments, and actual field conditions) and validate utilization and diversity factor assumptions.Review and advise sites across the network on facilities infrastructure additions or modifications; understand the scope of work, schedule to perform, and associated costs.Perform Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for services or equipment being procured for Micron; develop procurement documents such as scope of work (SOW) and schedule of values (SOV) and work with Procurement to answer questions.Utilize creative and critical thinking for Value Engineering efforts for cost saving; challenge the status quo while ensuring all design, construction and operational considerations are addressed and documented.10% travel is required.QualificationsEmployer will accept a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, followed by 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.Providing technical support to semiconductor facilities, mechanical and process systems, including cleanroom HVAC, chilled water, heating water, makeup air, recirculation air, process cooling water, process exhaust, compressed air, process vacuum, and general HVAC.Semiconductor facilities mechanical systems design and construction.Mechanical design and construction specifications.Providing guidance to design consulting firms, reviewing detailed designs and specifications for new facilities infrastructure, performing review of design packages and providing documented comments and feedback, and analyzing system designs to identify improvements.Providing technical support to procurement group on vendor qualifications, selection and negotiations.Benchmarking skills on engineering and design Best Known Methods (BKMs) of facilities buildings and systems.Developing and maintaining mechanical facilities systems standards and BKM documents.Benefits and Other InformationMicron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
