Staff Counsel will support the Company's national warranty litigation function by managing automotive warranty litigation matters and partnering with internal clients and outside counsel to achieve efficient, consistent case outcomes. This role involves hands‑on case management across a high‑volume docket, support of early resolution efforts, and coordination of key litigation activities (including discovery), with a focus on managing risk/exposure and cost of defense.Job ResponsibilitiesManage assigned warranty litigation matters within a national, high‑volume docket, including case assessment, investigation, and oversight of key milestones through resolutionPartner with outside counsel on case strategy, motion practice, settlement evaluation, and reporting; help ensure adherence to litigation guidelines and budgetsSupport the Warranty Early Resolution Program by identifying suitable matters, coordinating required information, and assisting with execution and tracking of outcomesCoordinate discovery activities as needed, including document preservation/collection, written discovery tracking, deposition support, and coordination with internal stakeholdersCollaborate with cross‑functional partners (e.g., Customer Care, Engineering, Quality, and Field teams) to gather facts and documents to support defense and resolutionContribute to the development and implementation of national strategies designed to manage risk/exposure and cost of defenseBasic QualificationsJuris Doctor degree with a strong academic backgroundMinimum of 3 years of experience in an outside law firm setting, preferably in a litigation practiceAdmitted to practice law in at least one statePreferred QualificationsUndergraduate degree or experience in engineering or technical field or interest in automobile mechanicsExperience developing litigation strategy, including early resolution approaches and cost‑containment initiativesThe ideal candidate will possess the ability to handle a high volume of cases while also having the ability to demonstrate leadership to develop strategies to manage litigation using creative, and cost‑effective strategiesStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse cross‑functional teamsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously to critical deadlines#J-18808-Ljbffr
