Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a **Staff Civil Engineer** in **Oakland, California** to support dam, levee, and hydropower infrastructure projects as part of our industry-leading Pacific Dams / Hydro practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to build a strong technical foundation while contributing to projects that enhance the safety, resilience, and long-term performance of critical infrastructure systems throughout Northern California and the western United States. The successful candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists to support analysis and design efforts for a wide range of dam and water resources facilities. This position provides hands-on experience across multiple phases of project development, including planning, design, construction support, and regulatory coordination, with strong mentorship and clear pathways for professional growth. _This position is expected to begin ASAP._ The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Participate as a member of teams providing analysis and design support for technical and feasibility studies for a variety of water infrastructure projects. + Development of plans, technical specifications, and quantities for construction cost estimates. + Create design models in AutoCAD Civil 3D for the purposes of analysis, construction plans and cost estimates. + Participate as field and/or office engineering technician during construction projects. + Assist with preparation of technical reports and memoranda. + Coordinate design elements with internal and external multi-disciplinary teams. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master’s Degree, or pursuing a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. + Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6-12 months. + Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. + Familiarity with grading layout and design. + Exposure to takeoff and quantity development for earthwork projects. + Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills. **Additional Information** + We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
