This Legal Support Position provides assistance to judges by conducting legal research, reviewing documents, and preparing legal orders and reports.
- Performs legal research using various sources to identify current laws, precedents, and recent legal changes.
- Reviews attorney submissions, verifies documentation, and drafts correspondence and legal documents for judge approval.
- Coordinates communication between judges and attorneys, schedules hearings, and assists during trials and hearings by taking detailed notes.
- Analyzes case evidence such as records, reports, depositions, and invoices to support case decisions and award calculations.
- Prepares and files legal and court documents, maintains case records, and manages court schedules.
- Utilizes computer software for data entry, research, and communication, and maintains current legal knowledge through ongoing education.
- Performs clerical tasks and communicates with various legal and court personnel, outside agencies, and the public.
