Our client, is seeking an Staff Accountant to join their close-knit accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with general ledger accounting experience who enjoys financial analysis, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative environment. Insurance industry experience is required but statutory reporting can be learned.

Key Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant

• 
  
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close
• 
  
• Reconcile bank, investment, and general ledger accounts
• 
  
• The Staff Accountant will assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting
• 
  
• Support statutory and NAIC reporting
• 
  
• Analyze account activity and resolve discrepancies
• 
  
• The Staff Accountant will assist with audits, fixed assets, and special projects
• 
  
• Provide backup support to the Bookkeeper
• 
  

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of accounting experience
• 
  
• Insurance industry experience required
• 
  
• General ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience
• 
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• 
  
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative
•
