A growing organization is seeking a detail?oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will support payroll?related accounting activities, including bonuses, commissions, benefits, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, hands?on payroll accounting experience, and advanced Excel skills.
This position partners closely with payroll and HR teams and plays an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Calculate and accrue quarterly and annual bonuses in accordance with internal policies and applicable agreements
• Calculate employee commissions and related accruals with a high level of accuracy
• Perform benefits reconciliations to ensure balances are complete and accurate
• Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and investigate variances
• Prepare and track payroll?related accruals in compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to support accurate and timely payroll processes
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to payroll, bonuses, commissions, and benefits for management
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, general ledger activity, accruals, and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• High attention to detail and strong problem?solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline?driven environment
• Strong communication skills and comfort working cross?functionally
• Experience with DayForce is a plus, but not required
• Prior experience in payroll accounting or a related accounting role strongly preferred
