Staff Accountant
Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid)
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team in a role that offers broad exposure across general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and project-related accounting activities. Key Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant Position
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account variances
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account analysis
- Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules
- Analyze account activity and provide explanations for fluctuations and trends
- Perform bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenance
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience; internship experience and strong early-career backgrounds will be considered
- Understanding of GAAP and foundational accounting principles
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables
