Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
  • Review and prepare necessary journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete.
  • Conduct regular ledger processes, preparing accruals and prepayments, to maintain the company's financial integrity.
  • Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions, maintaining policies and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
  • Handle monthly sales data and reporting, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for data analysis and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 plus years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g. NetSuite, Craftable plus).
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think critically and make decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is a plus.
