It requires adaptability, ownership, and confidence balancing a variety of responsibilities in a shared services capacity.Company BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive health insurance coverage with HSA and traditional PPO plan optionsDental, vision, disability, and company‑paid life insurance available as well as 401k retirement with company match*Paid time off and holidays for work‑life balance, including employee birthday*Opportunities for ongoing training and professional developmentJob PurposeThe Staff Accountant supports the Controller in the execution of day‑to‑day accounting functions across the business, providing support across accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, asset management, and month‑end close processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform full‑cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Provide month‑end close support.Assist with fleet management activities, including registrations and reconciliation of maintenance and repair expenses.Assist with preparation of weekly/monthly cash flow reports.Assist with tracking asset additions and disposals and depreciation reconciliations.Assist with sales tax filings across multiple states while maintaining supporting documentation for compliance and audits.Assist with expense reconciliation and data analysis.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned to support and collaborate with administrative and operational teams.Ensure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP.Assist with internal and external audit preparation.Occasional travel to branch locations may be required.Experience with intercompany transactions and multi‑entity accounting preferred.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.Working knowledge of general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.Key CompetenciesEffective communication with internal and external stakeholders.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.Ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve productivity goals.Strong time management and organization skills.High energy and willingness to take initiative with a "never say it's not my job" attitude.Stress tolerance and patience.Demonstrates ownership and interest in learning.Atlantic Forklift Services is an equal‑opportunity employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion.
