Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This role will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Assist with development and improvement of internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Handle tax-related filings including sales tax, property tax, and other compliance requirements
- Support internal reporting and assist with ad hoc projects as needed
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data
- Cross-train across accounting functions (AP, AR, etc.) to support team coverage
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of general accounting and/or audit experience (mix preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and leadership potential
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lease accounting, service contracts, or commission structures
- ERP or accounting system experience (e.g., ECI E-automate, QuickBooks)
- Background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Inventory accounting
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
