Currently, they are looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr - $50/hr (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting within a dynamic retail environment. This role requires a polished, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities and contribute to maintaining the financial integrity of a luxury brand.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including cash, inventory, and prepaid expenses.
  • Support inventory accounting, including tracking and cost analysis.
  • Analyze financial data and provide reporting to management.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Merchandising, and Finance teams.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • 3 - 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Experience with general ledger and account reconciliations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • Experience in luxury or high-end retail environments.
  • Exposure to inventory accounting and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with multi-location retail operations.
  • Prior involvement in audit support or financial reporting.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
