We are working with a growing organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a well-rounded accounting foundation, with hands-on exposure across the month-end close and full accounting cycle. The team is looking to develop this individual into a broader accounting professional over time.
Key Responsibilities
Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring and adjusting entries
Calculate and record accruals and prepaids
Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and key accounts) and resolve discrepancies
Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting
Partner with internal teams to gather data and improve accuracy of financials
Provide ad hoc support to Accounts Payable as needed (not a primary responsibility)
Contribute to process improvements and documentation as the accounting function evolves
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
1-3+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Experience in real estate, construction, or a related industry is highly preferred
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) and exposure to ERP systems
Eagerness to learn and grow into a full-scope accounting role
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
