Staff Accountant

We are seeking an Staff Accountant to support a busy accounting team during a leave of absence and increased workload. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys reconciliation work, is highly detail-oriented, and can work independently while knowing when to ask questions.

Staff Accountant

Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (7:30 AM-4:30 PM also available)
Pay: $38-$40/hour
Duration: Temporary assignment (4+ months, expected through November but could go temp to hire)
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy account and cash reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries
• Book new lease transactions
• Update and maintain lease templates and records
• Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
• Track lease payments and reconcile transactions to the correct bank accounts
• Review multiple records to validate and reconcile financial activity
• Assist with other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience with strong reconciliation skills
• Extensive experience with account and cash reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Great Plains experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Comfortable researching issues and asking questions when needed
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
