The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization's day-to-day financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, managing accounts receivable activities, assisting with the close process, and preparing financial reports. The role requires strong analytical ability, a high level of accuracy, and advanced Excel skills. This individual will also contribute to process improvements, special projects, and other initiatives led by the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Record and post journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger activity
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledgers to the general ledger
Partner with internal departments to address billing questions and issues
Build and maintain detailed Excel reports, models, and workbooks
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential concerns
Prepare both recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management
Assist with budgeting efforts and variance analysis
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and internal policies
Support external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation
Assist with compliance reporting and required documentation
Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and reporting accuracy
Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and automation projects
Help document accounting procedures and internal controls
Provide support for special projects and strategic initiatives
Complete additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by leadership
Cross-train with team members to ensure coverage and operational continuity
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-5 years of relevant accounting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities
Pay Details: $58,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
