Client Overview:
Our Fort Lauderdale client is a growing consumer services company expanding into the South Florida market. They are looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. They have different business lines and are continuing to acquire more opportunities.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k - $65k

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive in identifying process improvements. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards as a Staff Accountant.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, review and post journal entries, and monitor transactions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer collections.
  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with other teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis as a Staff Accountant.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct a detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax returns and support audits, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and liaising with external advisors as needed, as a Staff Accountant.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or multiple internships
  • Strong academic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting basics.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the consumer services industry is a plus.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Continuing education in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
